This a part time job, as needed. The role will work at all 8 of our school locations. Work will vary each week but will no exceed 16 hours a week.

Our mission is to nurture and educate children and their families. We provide opportunities for education, parenting support and resources to families in our communities.

 
The Children's Center Head Start/Early Head Start is a federally funded program that provides no cost services to qualifying families who reside in the community. Comprehensive services are provided to pregnant women and their partners and children from birth to 5. Child development, health and family services are provided through a variety of program options designed to meet the needs of low-income and at risk families.


  • School maintenance workers are responsible for ensuring that the school facilities remains clean and in working order. Typical duties include sweeping, mopping or vacuuming the floors of halls and classrooms, cleaning the bathrooms, yard maintenance and completing basic repairs.  The Maintenance Worker can perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities including plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other building systems.  Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.



Job Qualifications:

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of general carpentry and repair.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance, repair, and installation in connection with:
    1. electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
    2. exterior and interior of buildings.
    3. school grounds.
  • Basic working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Experience working with tools, including hand and electrical tools.
  • Proven experience as a maintenance worker or other similar position, preferably in a school setting.
  • Ability to read and utilize technical manuals and drawings.
  • Have a valid driver’s license, be able to driver, and qualify under the agency’s insurance carrier when driving an agency vehicle.
