Job Responsibilities:




The Custodian must have a basic knowledge of common household repairs and cleaning methods, be reliable and be able to adhere to required standards of safety and cleanliness. Dust & clean all fixtures and office furniture including file cabinets, desks, credenzas, counter tops, display units, window ledges and phones. Spot clean doors, door frames and light switches, spot clean walls, properly position furniture in offices daily. All waste paper receptacles emptied and trash taken to a designated area in the building for storage or removal daily to the on premises dumpster unit. Sanitize inside of all waste paper receptacles weekly or as needed.All internal glass partitions and entrance glass dusted; smudges and fingerprints removed daily. Clean and sanitize all sinks daily including water fountains. Vacuum all carpeted areas daily. All ceramic and resilient floor areas dust mopped/swept daily. All ceramic and resilient floor areas damp mopped daily. Shake out or clean as needed all floor and door mats inside and outside of the building. Lunch room counter, table and floors daily. Coffee area and counter daily. Clean and polish all dispensers and fixtures. Clean and disinfect wash basins and toilet bowls daily. Spot clean walls. Wash all restroom floors with a germicidal solution daily. Polish all metal and mirrors daily. All paper products restocked daily – notify kitchen staff when supplies are needed. Steam clean carpet in infant room only 1 time per month. Clean Inside & outside glass windows 2 times per year – (1 = Spring & 1 = Fall. Clean inside glass in lobby area daily, rest of building spot check daily. Clean & organize janitor closet – including mop floor daily. Turn off designated lights daily. Lock door and windows daily. Set building alarm as instructed. All other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:
Must be 21 years of age. Must have high school diploma or GED Equivalent. Must have a current Virginia Driver’s license. Must demonstrate good communication skills. Must hold a current Food Handlers card. Must meet all physical, mental, moral and other requirements as set forth by Federal and State Regulations. Must be familiar with all background of children we serve. Must have current CPR and First Aid Certification. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Must be able to perform basic computer applications such as utilizing Time Clock software. Must be able to communicate through company email using Outlook.
