Job Responsibilities:

The Children's Center, a non-profit agency, is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of young children, one family at a time. Our mission is to nurture and educate children and their families. We provide opportunities for education, parenting support and resources to families in our communities.

The Children's Center Head Start/Early Head Start is a federally funded program that provides no cost services to qualifying families who reside in the community. Comprehensive services are provided to pregnant women and their partners and children from birth to 5. Child development, health and family services are provided through a variety of program options designed to meet the needs of low-income and at risk families.


Assures safety for each child in early care and education; Participates in developmental program for each child in early care and education; Guides activities for developmental goals as assigned daily; Assures orderly and safe early care and education area; Follows early care schedule or changes from schedule as appropriate for each child; Greets each child and parent when child arrives and departs; Assures sanitary procedures in early care (diapering, hand washing and tooth brushing); Prepares lunches and snacks when assigned; Makes suggestions to supervisor for improving quality or for improving services to clients and families; Implements educational program; Assures documentation of all early care and education forms; Assures organized placement of all toys; Assures proper cleaning of all toys, cribs, cots, feeding chairs and trays; Cleans kitchen dishes and puts food away daily; Maintains early care and education setting in a clean and orderly manner; Prepares activities for developmental goals as assigned daily; Employee must perform all other duties that advance the philosophy and goals of the program and as deemed necessary by supervisor; Must report all suspected cases of child abuse and neglect or adult abuse and neglect immediately to supervisor in acceptance of agency policy and applicable state law

Job Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Must have experience in working with young children. Must be able to work effectively and harmoniously with client, staff members, and other professionals. Must be familiar with all backgrounds of families in the program. Must have access to a car and valid Drivers License. Must obtain CPR/First Aid Certification. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must utilize The Children’s Center curriculum. Must be able to perform basic computer applications such as utilizing Time Clock software. Must be able to communicate through company email using Outlook.
