JOB SUMMARY


 


This position provides technical support for the installation, repair and maintenance of the agency's information technology systems.


 


MAJOR DUTIES


 



  • Assists in coordinating and performing maintenance repairs on all equipment; installs hardware and software on all workstations and servers.

     



  • Provides user support by providing instruction, troubleshooting problems, coordinating webinars, etc.

     



  • Creates new employee profiles, accounts and passwords.

     



  • Provides primary technical support in the absence of the Information Technology Manager.

     



  • Verifies daily server back-ups and restores files from back-up tapes as needed.

     



  • Maintains the agency's security code system.

     



  • Maintains newsletter and bereavement database records.

     



  • Performs related duties.

  • Knowledge information technology installation, maintenance and repair principles and practices.

     



  • Knowledge of software management principles.

SUPERVISORY CONTROLS


 


The Information Technology Manager assigns work in terms of general instructions. The supervisor spot-checks completed work for compliance with procedures and the nature and propriety of the final results.


 


GUIDELINES


 


Guidelines include software license agreements and Children's Center policies and procedures. These guidelines are generally clear and specific, but may require some interpretation in application.


 


COMPLEXITY/SCOPE OF WORK


 



  • The work consists of related technical duties. The variety of user needs contributes to the complexity of the position.

     



  • The purpose of this position is to provide support for the information technology operations of the agency.  Successful performance helps ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of agency operations.

Job Qualifications:


  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT


     



  • The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table or while intermittently sitting, standing or stooping. The employee frequently lifts light and occasionally heavy objects and climbs ladders.

     



  • The work is typically performed in an office.


  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds.  


     


     


    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


     





  • Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education. (Associates Degree)

     





  • Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.


 



  • Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license for the type of vehicle or equipment used.

  • Must obtain CPR/First Aid.

  • Must obtain Food Handlers certification.
