Head Start Teacher - PDP (Pre-K School Teacher)

Job Responsibilities:

*To be considered for this position you must be credentialed with the following - Associates or higher in ECE, ECE Infant/Toddler Certificate or Infant/Toddler CDA and willing to enroll in classes to receive an Associates in ECE.

The Children's Center Head Start/Early Head Start is a federally funded program that provides no cost services to qualifying families who reside in the community. Comprehensive services are provided to pregnant women and their partners and children from birth to 5. Child development, health and family services are provided through a variety of program options designed to meet the needs of low-income and at risk families.

This position supervises and teaches children in the Head Start Program.

 

MAJOR DUTIES

 

  • Coordinates and delivers instruction and care for assigned children.
  • Documents client arrival and departure.
  • Administers developmental assessments for the purpose of identifying student needs and developing individual lesson plans.
  • Develops and implements lesson plans, including individualized child plans and indoor and outdoor activities.
  • Implements current curriculum.
  • Monitors students in a variety of settings.
  • Maintains student files and records.
  • Implements academic, behavior, health and nutrition plans for students.
  • Completes quarterly check-points.
  • Prepares a monthly newsletter.
  • Schedules and implements home visits.
  • Administers medication according to policies and procedures.
  • Attends required training.
  • Prepares incident reports.
  • Prepares and serves meals.
  • Communicates and meets with parents; schedules and participates in parent conferences.
  • Ensures compliance with safety standards.
  • Attends monthly Lead Teacher meetings.
  • Performs related duties.

 


Job Qualifications:
Must have an Associates or higher in ECE, ECE Infant/Toddler Certificate or Infant/Toddler CDA and willing to enroll in classes to receive an Associates in ECE.
